Publication Ethics

The College of Special Education Journal adopts the standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Researchers and reviewers are expected to uphold the following ethical standards:

  1. Researchers must verify the originality of research and ensure it aligns with the elevated professional and ethical benchmarks for researchers.
  2. Researchers must attain high credibility in presenting research results, avoiding any fabrication or distortion of data.
  3. Researchers must restrict research authorship to contributors who made substantial contributions. Researchers should be organized based on the significance of their input, with the corresponding researcher responsible for ensuring the inclusion of all participating contributors and excluding non-participating names.
  4. Researchers should express gratitude and appreciation to individuals who contributed to the research but were not explicitly named among the researchers.
  5. Researchers must address referees' suggestions during the research review process. If disagreements arise, researchers must provide a logical justification for rejecting proposed amendments.
  6. The editorial board refer the research submitted for journal publication to evaluation by specialized reviewers.
  7. If the editorial board confirms that the submitted research align with journal policies and scientific integrity, the research undergoes evaluation by two specialized reviewers. They will provide a detailed report on integrity and scientific originality using a designated form.
  8. The journals administration handles the names of reviewers and their reports with utmost confidentiality, revealing them exclusively to the editorial board members, who also maintain strict confidentiality in their handling.
  9. The journal administration maintains full confidentiality for research submitted for publication throughout its review process and prior to publication.
  10. If a reviewer provides a negative report, the research is forwarded in its original form to a third reviewer for a determination regarding its suitability for publication.
  11. Reviewers must be objective in their reviewing process.
  12. The journal may employ suitable anti-plagiarism software to check for similarities between the submitted research and previously published works.
  13. Researchers should guarantee precision in documentation and accurately cite references and consulted sources.
  14. The journal is entitled to implement all necessary measures against individuals who breach the principles and regulations of scientific research ethics.
  15. Researchers should refrain from submitting works that have been previously published in other journals. Additionally, they must avoid submitting their research to more than one journal simultaneously.
  16. Researchers are permitted to publish their research in other journals only after obtaining an official rejection from the current journal or securing official approval to withdraw their submitted research.
