Effectiveness of a Counseling Program Based on Emotional Self-Regulation in Developing Psychological Immunity and Stress-Coping Strategies Among a Sample of Special Education Teachers

Abstract

The study aimed to verify the effectiveness of the counseling program based on self-emotional regulation in developing psychological immunity، the continuity of the effectiveness of the counseling program based on self-emotional regulation. developing strategies for coping with stress among a sample of special education teachers. The number of samples in study consisted of (13) male and female teachers in special education schools - specializing in intellectual education. There were (3) male and (10) female teachers, aged between (41-59) with an average age of (50). The researcher used the following tools: two psychological immunity scales; Strategies for coping with stress for special education teachers; the counseling program based on self-emotional regulation; All of them were prepared by the researcher. The results of the study found that there were statistically significant differences in psychological immunity between the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement. and the absence of statistically significant differences in psychological immunity between the post-measurements and the follow-up depending on the effectiveness of the counseling program based on self-emotional regulation. The presence of statistically significant differences in strategies for coping with stress between the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement,. There were no statistically significant differences in strategies for coping with stress between the post and follow-up measurements depending on the effectiveness of the counseling program based on self-emotional regulation. The continuity of the impact of the counseling program one month after the end of the application in developing psychological immunity and strategies for coping with stress.
